Crested Butte Summer Trip (Jul '11)
Every summer, Sarah and I make a trip south to Crested Butte, our absolute favorite town in Colorado. In July, Crested Butte is known for its wildflowers- and this year there was no disappointment. However, this year was slightly different; instead of having to hike above 10k feet for the flowers, they were in abundance between 9-10k feet. The first five pictures in this set are actually from a hike we did on the way to Crested Butte, outside of Copper Mountain, called Mayflower Gulch. The old mining town of Boston is located there, and the shots you see were taken in and around the mining ruins. The pictures from Crested Butte are from a variety of hikes including Snodgrass Mtn., Brush Creek Road, the Lower Loop, and our hike to the summit of Mt. Crested Butte. Hopefully these images show the beauty of the area and justify why its our favorite place in Colorado.
