This day deserves a gallery of its own: Mykines is the western-most island in the Faroes, and is absolutely spectacular. Just a 20 minute ferry ride from the "mainland", it seems like you've stepped into the Faroese version of Jurassic Park. The island is home to millions of seabirds, including the photogenic puffin... which you'll see quite a few pictures of here. At times it was like we were in a "tornado" of puffins there were so many - and other times we got within 8 feet of the little birds.
