Moab Mountain Biking in December (Dec. '11)
With almost non-existent snow in Colorado (snow levels are the lowest in decades) and needing my outdoor fix, my friend Adam and I decided to make a quick road trip to Moab, 5 hours away. We left early Thursday morning and arrived in Moab around noon, and proceeded to ride around 19 miles (and 2200 vertical) on Moab's EKG- Mega Steps- Baby Steps- Klondike Bluffs trail system. Friday morning we woke up, had breakfast at the Moab Diner, and then headed for one of the all-time classic rides, Amasa Back. The views from this trail are second to none, and the riding is right up there too. Another 15 miles and 2,000 vertical of climbing and our biking fix had been satiated for a while.... unless this snow drought continues, then I'll be back in Moab soon.
