Red Mountain Open Space (Nov 2010)
Sarah and I headed up towards Wyoming to hike in Red Mountain Open Space, which is a neighboring "area" next to Soapstone Prairie, which I had been to a few times. The landscape is wide open, and it feels like you're the only person within 100 miles. Unfortunately, we picked an interesting time to hike, as a cold front made it's way through the area and brought some weather. When we started the hike, it was 70 degrees... when we returned, it was 50 degrees with 30 mph winds. Regardless, Red Mountain is beautiful and we'll return when it's a little warmer and sunnier. A few of the pictures show the storm moving in- we were lucky enough not to get rained on this time.
