Ultimate Southwest Road Trip (Mar '13)
Over Sarah's spring break this year (last week), we decided to take a road trip to St. George Utah to visit her aunt... and on the way there and back, we wanted to visit as many cool places as possible. I'd say we succeeded; over 1800 miles later, we managed to see the following: Goblin Valley, Zion National Park, Little Black Mountain petroglyphs, Red Cliffs Natural Area, Zion again (the Kolob Terrace section), Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Waterholes Slot Canyons, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley, House on Fire, and the False Kiva in Canyonlands Nat'l Park. The best part was, we managed to time each visit as to not be there with the crowds, and we were never hurried from one spot to the next. I obviously took more pictures than what you see here, but these are the highlights of the trip. Be sure to read the available captions, I tried to include some information about each location when I could.

We got to Goblin Valley around 8:30am after leaving Fruita, CO early that morning and were the first people in the park. There's a large plateau in the middle of the main section that you can scramble up (climbing using hands and feet), so we got up to the top for an awesome view.
